SEMA 2019: Miller Electric Releases Ground-Breaking Do-All Welder

Another stop for us here at the 2019 SEMA Show was the Miller Electric Manufacturing booth. For those of you out there who are fabricators or weekend for-fun welders, you’re in for a treat. Are you wanting to get into your own welding equipment? Wanting a MIG welder? TIG? Stick? Introducing the all-new Multimatic 220 AC/DC unit from Miller.

To learn more about this welder and all of its capabilities, we spoke with Andy Weyenberg, Motorsports Marketing Manager for Miller.

“This welder here is basically the do-all welder. It has so many capabilities and it fits almost every welding skill level,” said Weyenberg. “This unit MIG’s, TIG’s, and Stick welds, but the key differentiator is that it when it TIG’s, it does it in DC or AC, which allows you to weld aluminum or magnesium.”

Weyenberg went on to tell us that the 220 unit has a high power of 220 amps and a very compact and mobile package. Because this welder has such a professional welding mark and has its unique convenient size and capabilities, it’s intriguing to DIY guys at home all the way to motorsports teams who fabricate daily.

Wanting to get into welding different ways? You’re going to be far more financially invested buying individual TIG, MIG, and Stick welders than you would if you just got into the Multimatic 220. The Multimatic 220 covers every type of welding for every type of operator. In fact, because the DIY guys were thought of in the design process, this model features AutoSet Elite, which allows for green welders to input the material thickness and the machine will make those adjustments for you to make the weld the best it can be.

This unit is just under $3,000 and sounds like an absolute steal for the package you’re receiving. If you’re upgrading welders, getting into welding, or have multiple people operating welders for you, this MultiMatic 220 looks like it can help you out 100-percent.
