We are all excited about the upcoming SEMA Show. You can be sure we are going to get an insider look at everything as well as be privy to some of the newest and greatest technology. Of course, we will be bringing it all to you next week during the show. With that in mind, BorgWarner has released a brief sneak peak video about what will be coming up in their booth. In addition to this snapshot of what is to be the “hot topic” next week, they have also released the following information.
BorgWarner will feature its EFR (Engineered For Racing) series turbochargers as well as seven new additions to its AirWerks series turbochargers during the 2014 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center on November 4 – 7.
In booth 21641, BorgWarner will also host:
- The record-breaking Time Attack Subaru STi from Jager Racing boosted with a BorgWarner EFR-7163 turbocharger
- The Formula Drift Pro Championship Scion tC drift car from Papadakis Racing featuring a BorgWarner EFR-8374D turbocharger
“As an official sponsor of Jager Racing and Papadakis Racing, BorgWarner is pleased to display these winning vehicles at this year’s SEMA Show,” said Frédéric Lissalde, President and General Manager, BorgWarner Turbo Systems. “Time Attack and drift racing are exciting, highly competitive sports that demand reliable, powerful performance and quick response. We’ve worked closely with both teams to develop turbochargers with a unique combination of features that are truly engineered for racing.”
The official turbocharger of the 2014 Verizon IndyCar® Series season and the same turbocharger Jager Racing relies on for Time Attack, BorgWarner’s EFR-7163 turbocharger is now available to race enthusiasts through BorgWarner distributors. Featuring lightweight Gamma-Ti turbine wheels, stainless steel housings and ceramic ball bearing technology, the EFR-7163 turbocharger combines responsiveness, compact packaging and greater flow capacity to achieve up to 550 horsepower. For an easier retrofit experience, all EFR turbochargers offer integrated features including a compressor recirculation valve, electronic boost control solenoid and flexible compressor cover outlet connections. BorgWarner’s EFR turbocharger line is available in a range of units supporting 225 to 1,000 horsepower per turbocharger.
