When add-ons and modifications start to stack up on a diesel truck, it’s like binging on ice cream every night – weight gain. But unlike us humans, our rigs can be commanded to unlock more pep in their step, and one of the ways to do it is through Edge Products.
The company recently announced its Amp’d Throttle Sensitivity Booster, and made it available on a wide variety of applications. Ram, Ford, Chevrolet, and more are covered. We spoke with Edge Products’ Matt Barker to find out more.
“The Amp’d product line is really designed around a simple and easy to install module that can have a drastic improvement on the throttle response and overall drivability of your vehicle,” said Barker. “The Amp’d kit can make adjustments to the throttle curve resulting in instant power and more responsive spooling on turbocharged applications. Also, the Amp’d Throttle Booster pairs perfectly with Edge performance products.”
With regard to diesels in particular, the Amp’d represents a terrific solution. “One of the biggest complaints that diesel truck owners have had for years is the turbo lag or throttle lag,” said Barker. “The Amp’d module virtually eliminates that issue and provides a much more responsive driving style. The Amp’d kit also allows for adjustments to the throttle curve to customize the experience for multiple driving styles. The Amp’d kit is going to provide an instant, seat-of-the-pants performance gain.”
You might think that that’s all there is to the Amp’d, but you’d be wrong. As an option, Superchips also offers the Power Switch, which allows even greater adjustment of throttle sensitivity. “The Amp’d Switch makes the process of adjusting the throttle responsiveness level extremely simple with just the push of a button,” said Barker. “It allows allow you to run six different modes instead of just the two modes available without the switch. Performance improvements have never been easier.”
So, to give your Jeep or truck an added pick-me-up without much hassle, the Edge Amp’d and Power Switch are the way to go. Check out more from Edge on its website and Facebook page.
