Spirits were high and smoke was billowing at the NADM East Coast Diesel Nationals this past month. On Saturday, July 15th, diesel enthusiasts from all over gathered at the Numidia Dragway in Numidia, Pennsylvania to see all the action over the course of one day.
We spoke with NADM’s Ron Knoch to get a better sense of how much folks enjoyed the blowout event. “What I’m told makes our event fun is that we have something going on all day,” said Knoch. “You get a full eyeful all day long!”

The NADM East Coast Diesel Nationals was out at the Numidia Dragway in Numidia, Pennsylvania on July 15th. This was the organization’s ninth time at the venue. Visitors got to enjoy all things diesel, from drag racing to sled pulling.
Backing up that statement was the event’s agenda. It included drag racing, dyno runs, show-n-shine, and sled pulling, all of which were going off simultaneously. For those of us that love diesel sensory overload, it sounds like we missed out!
Asked what he thought were the best parts of the event, Knoch said, “Probably the finals and the drag racing, the hot work stock class and the 2.6/3.0 trucks. They always have nice, real high-powered trucks in those classes.”
The Unlimited Heads-up winner was Greg Albaralla in his black Duramax. He beat out Nick Eklund for the victory. His winning pass was 10.043 seconds at 139.43 mph.
It’s crazy to think that this whole event was almost rained out, with a cats-and-dogs downpour on the preceding Thursday and Friday. Thankfully, it evaporated in time, and visitors got to enjoy their high-powered diesel fix on Saturday.
