When it comes to performance fuel systems, the name Aeromotive is synonymous with top-of-the-line products. Once known only for drag racing, Aeromotive has stepped into the diesel market with some quality diesel fuel pump items any diesel owner can benefit from having.
For starters, let’s take a look at the classic Phantom in-tank fuel pump that is now available for universal diesel applications. Aeromotive’s cutting-edge fuel delivery technology for the Diesel market is designed for racing applications, as these new fuel pumps, fuel modules, and the available assembled fuel cell will ensure the consistent flow you’ve come to expect from Aeromotive.
The in-tank Phantom pumps are available in a single-pump design (left) and a dual-pump design (right).
The single diesel fuel pump flow ranges from 81.98 gal/hr at 16 psi to 37.5 gal/hr at 100 psi. The dual pump Phantom will deliver 163.96 gp/h at 16 psi to 75 gp/h at 100 psi. The in-tank geroter pump(s) stays cooler and quieter than an exterior pump and has a higher flow than most factory lift pumps. Extended bracket length allows for installation in deeper tanks (6 to 20 inches). A 300 micron pre-filter is included.
Next, we have the lift pump options. The Aeromotive diesel lift pump was developed to solve some key issues in the diesel lift pump market. Aeromotive opted for a flow-thru design to solve the shaft seal failure, which means there is no shaft seal to fail or leak. If you have a Duramax there is a built-in fail-safe valve. In the event of failure or a no-run condition, the valve will open and allow fuel to bypass the pump, allowing the vehicle to continue to run.
These pumps use a brushless motor design, and a single filter model simplifies the design and reduces maintenance costs. The lift pump includes the Caterpillar 1R-0750 2-micron filter to catch the smallest particulates. Unfortunately, this product is not legal for sale or use on emission-controlled vehicles except when used as a direct replacement part matching OEM specifications.
