New Study Revels Diesel Vehicles Cleaner Than Electric Vehicles!

lead_with_Background

As of late, many diesel owners are getting pressured from environmentalists to get rid of our diesels. They claim the way of the future is electric vehicles. Last year we ran a story where a lovely lady in the parking lot video cussing out a family because the owner left the truck idle while his kids were sleeping in the back seat. According to her, he was suffocating her and ruining the earth? For some reason, Youtube (based in California) removed that video, but here is a link to the story.

Crazy-Lady-400x230Well, brace yourself. According to a recent study presented by the Associated Press (AP), “all electric vehicles cause 86 percent more deaths from air pollution.” Hybrids and diesel engines are cleaner than gas, causing fewer air pollution deaths and spewing less heat-trapping gas.

As a diesel lover, if you are anything like us you take a ration of S**t for the ride you drive, every time you come across a supposed environmentalist/ tree hugger! Well, now we have actual scientific data to support what we have known all along. Electric vehicles aren’t all that they are cracked up to be. Did you hear that, it’s the sound of all of those environmentalists choking? Apparently, coal must have gotten into their lungs but not from us “coal rolling” to teach them a lesson, from them trying to be “green”.

How credible is this new info you ask?

Next time you get into a heated debate over our trucks, you can use this info to shut down your opponent. It only works if the info is credible. Well, this is coming from a new study by the University of Minnesota. That is pretty credible if you ask us.

According to National Geographics the Robert W. Scherer power plant in Georgia is the largest producer of greenhouse gases in the states. They burn about 12 million tons of coal a year to keep the lights on.

Their study shows that all electric cars are actually making the air dirtier and worsening global warming. Yep that’s right they’re killing us and ruining our children’s future one plug at a time!

2010 Honda Insight EX

For the longest time, the Honda Insight was an electric vehicle. Today, it is a hybrid.

According to AP, “The key is where the source of the electricity comes from for all-electric cars. If it comes from coal, the electric cars produce 3.6 times more soot and smog deaths than gas, because of the pollution made in generating the electricity. They, also, are significantly worse at heat-trapping carbon dioxide that worsens global warming, it found. Unfortunately, when a wire is connected to an electric vehicle at one end and a coal-fired power plant at the other end, the environmental consequences are worse than driving a normal gasoline-powered car,” said Ken Caldeira of the Carnegie Institution for Science, who wasn’t part of the study but praised it.”

Now sadly, we were hoping that the states that would be the highest offenders would be those “hippie” states but it turns out they are kind of spread out across the country. The states with the highest percentage of electricity coming from coal, according to the Department of Energy, are West Virginia, Wyoming, Ohio, North Dakota, and Illinois. 39 percent of the country’s electricity is generated from coal, according to the Department of Energy.

Now, the biggest offender of all, happens to be ethanol according to the study showing 80 percent more air pollution mortality, according to the study. Sounds like to us that if we are using all of these things to help save our planet we are barking up the wrong tree! Let’s all do what the rest of the world does and embrace diesels and reap the benefits.

My only question is, since electric vehicles are killing us and the planet with coal, does that make them coal infectors? The nerve!
