Do you really know where you are getting your diesel fuel from? Fuel filtration is one of the most important areas in making sure that your diesel runs for a long period of time.
The folks at FASS Fuel Systems talk about this in their latest Tech Tips video. The way that diesel motor require their fuel it is important to make sure that the fuel is filtered properly.
“Most manufactures equip their diesels with a 5-10 micron fuel filter,” Josh Thornton of FASS explained. “Our Titanium Series pumps come with three micron fuel filter and a 10-20 water separator depending on the application.”
One of the leading issues with a diesel when they are not running right is a problem with their fuel system. “Diesel fuel injection systems require extremely thorough filtration for maintaining fuel system life,” Thornton continued. “On common rail fuel injection systems where the tolerances are very tight and are easily susceptible to contamination.”
