Everywhere we look, it seems that the world is clamping down on diesels. Whether demanding lower emissions, imposing harsh fines, or outright banning them from certain areas, global governmental actions are steadily finding ways to make diesel vehicles less and less common as climate change initiatives take hold.
That’s why it’s refreshing to see a video like this from the folks at Busted Knuckle. Here, we see a nighttime event taking place in North Carolina, showcasing the brute force of these heavy-duty machines. It’s a burnout competition between Ford, GM, and Dodge Ram as three trucks put the hammer down and burn rubber.
First up is a single cab Ford Super Duty work truck, equipped with bed storage compartments. A single stack exhaust poking through the bed shoots monstrous flames toward the sky, riling up the crowd while keeping them warm. The black smoke plumes up top as white tire smoke billows from the bottom – kind of like the papal election tradition, except way more badass.
Next up is a murdered-out crew cab Chevy. The rear exhaust is at the stock location, mixing with the tire smoke in a truly breathtaking way. Speaking of breathtaking, we hope no one in the crowd had to be carted off to the hospital following the Bowtie’s demo. The smoke gets so thick at one point that the truck all but disappears.
Third up is a 2nd-gen Dodge Ram. The Cummins motor is no joke, as it spools up faster than you can say “12-valve” and quickly drowns out the background in a blanket of smoke. The burnout goes for well over an entire minute to boot.
The Ford is invited back for an encore performance to close out the event, churning fuel and rubber to the excited cheers from the crowd. If this kind of action gets your blood pumping, then head on over to the Busted Knuckle YouTube channel.
