Welcome back to Wrecked Truck Friday – WTF – as we continue to check out the recently deceased rigs out there in need of a rescue. This week, we’re checking out a 2004 Ford F-350 out of Des Moines, Iowa.
We hope you aren’t offended by the color of this Super Duty, but we totally get it if you are. It’s yellow, and unabashedly so. As a color preference for a vehicle, it’s one of the riskier ones, and we’re not sure it belongs on a diesel truck – it’s hard enough to swallow that Ford offered it as an option on the Ranger back in the 1990s. The owner did put a couple of gray racing stripes down the center, but it’s tacked-on tackiness, much like the headache rack.
Speaking of tacked-on, anything that wasn’t glued or screwed got seriously destroyed. The rear fender are all but decimated, while the hood and doors all show signs of abuse. Scratches, dents, and entire patches of paint gone really showcase some of the torture the truck endured.
The inside didn’t fare much better. Water lines on the dashboard and stains on the seats are enough to tell us it might never smell nice in there ever again. The previous owner spent some bucks here, too, with a custom wooden center console and headrest TV screens.
The engine bay shows the 6.0-liter V8, and everything looks to be in order here. The F-350 may not have much going for it, but at least its drivetrain is intact.
Can this F-350 make a comeback? Or is it time to put Old Yeller down for good? Let us know in the comments below.
