Welcome back to Wrecked Truck Friday – WTF – as we continue to check out the recently deceased rigs out there in need of a rescue. This week, we’re checking out a 2012 Chevrolet 2500 in Columbus, Ohio.
Right away, the truck looks to be in great shape. We’re used to seeing these pickups with crumpled front ends, smashed glass, and a sprinkling of chintzy mods or graphics. But all we can see wrong with this vehicle is its rear passenger fender.
Here, we see what looks to be a dent that was hammered to try and put it back to normal. But what’s more curious is the large area that was cut out. In our view, it looks like something was hidden there and somebody wanted to find it. Drugs or money? We’ll let you decide.
If that area was hiding some sort of hidden treasure, the rest of the truck sure isn’t. The interior holds no surprises, other than a sunshield and a couple of seat covers for the front seats. The engine bay looks unperturbed, too. The only thing that would need to be addressed (aside from the fender) is the missing passenger-side running board.
The Chevy has 84,000 miles on the odometer, starts with a jump, and runs and drives. It’s valued at $33,403. The cost to fix it wouldn’t be that painful, so we’d feel safe dropping a bid on it if we had the money.
But what about you? Give us your impressions in the comment section below.
