We’re headed out to Ennis, Texas tomorrow for the NHRDA World Finals. This is the season finale for both, sled pulling and drag racing drivers. On the drag strip at the Texas Motorplex, we’re looking forward to what all of the classes bring to the table. After all, this is everyone’s last chance to take home the championship.

One driver that has caught our eye is Anthony Reams with (XDP) Xtreme Diesel Performance. As you may know, Anthony was a selected competitor for the Ultimate Callout Challenge in this year’s competition in Indianapolis. After a struggling performance, Reams decided it was time to change things up for the better.

The Super Street category has a 6,000-pound minimum weight restriction. All the trucks must also run the factory suspension like leaf springs.

Over this past year, Anthony has teamed up with some great company. D&J Precision Machine, HSP Diesel, and Firepunk Diesel combined have made serious changes in this truck. “Basically everything except for the body,” said Reams. A Firepunk transmission was installed which will be controlled by a Firepunk Anteater system. The anteater system will allow him to adjust shift points while drag racing.

Another huge change that has been made is the deck plate engine from D&J Precision Machine. This engine is capable of more than 2,000 horsepower and from what we’ve heard in testing, it has surpassed their expectations. “This new setup is insane,” Reams told us.

HSP Diesel plumbed up the new turbochargers on the new engine. The new turbos are a much bigger set than previously on during the Ultimate Callout Challenge. Upgraded are a few 88-millimeter turbos combined with a single 102-millimeter manifold charger.

It has been a long time coming, and we’re really excited to see what this truck can do. Reams is heading down to Texas as we speak for this biggest weekend of the year. Be sure and stay tuned as we will give you the latest updates and live feeds from the NHRDA World Finals.
