When a recall is issued, regardless of the brand, model, or potential danger, you don’t typically find out that the issue is someone forgot to tighten the nuts on your windshield wipers. But, it’s 2022 and anything can happen. Stellantis is recalling nearly 202,000 heavy duty RAM trucks and chassis cabs to tighten a loose nut that can stop the windshield wipers from working properly.

The recall covers certain RAM 2500 and 3500 pickups and some 3500, 4500, and 5500 chassis cabs. They are all from 2019 and 2020 and most of them are in the United States and Canada. The United States safety regulators say in documents posted Thursday that the wiper arms may loosen, possibly causing a malfunction that can reduce visibility. This can obviously be dangerous and decrease vision.

Per Stellantis, there are no known crashes or injuries because of this. Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by letter starting March 18th. You will be instructed to set up an appointment with your dealer to have this repaired, What have we learned? Tighten up your nuts. For more industry news, stay tuned right here to Diesel Army.
