Founded in 1974, VP Racing Fuels has spent more than four decades refining their blend of racing fuels, becoming one of the industry’s leaders in the process. The company later added fuel additives to their resume, and now, they’ve launched another segment to their operations with the unveiling of the VP Racing Lubricants product line.
“We’re worked with a leading additive supplier in the world on developing this product, and we’ve created an oil with a high level of zinc and phosphorous for flat tappet roller cams, with multiple anti-wear chemistries and some very unique friction and viscosity modifiers built into the formulation,” explains VP’s Richard Glady. “These modifiers reduce the friction, lubricant to lubricant and metal to lubricant, to increase horsepower and reduce operating temperature.”
VP’s initial launch includes professional grade and hi-perfomance (for small-block engines and the classic car market, including street rods, muscle cars, and vintage cars) renditions of oils, with viscosities on the former ranging from SAE 0W-20, SAE 5W-30, SAE 10W-40 and SAE 15W-50 and the latter in SAE 10W-30, SAE 10W-40 and SAE 20W-50.
A race-focused oil, VP has targeted their professional lubricant at racers from the weekend warriors to the professional race teams. The Hi-Performance lubricant, per Glady, features a slightly different additive system for the smaller engines in the classic car marketplace.
Packaged with the launch of VP’s lubricant division is also a 10W-40 Engine Break-In Oil, Assembly Lube, and both an 80W-90 conventional mineral-based and a full synthetic 75W-90 Gear Oil. VP Lubricants will be available in Q1 2017.
