The majority of us enthusiasts are weekend warriors and look up to big companies to forge new ideas for our sport. Luckily for us, they are able to do just that. Furthering the industry by discovering and designing new products for enthusiasts is a promise that Fleece Performance Engineering stands by.
At the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza this year in Terre Haute, Indiana Fleece Performance, like many others, had a booth set up to offer special deals on everything from apparel to even hard parts. But something stood out from the Fleece booth, and it was literally a diamond in the rough when you think about the gravel parking lot we were in!
After a year and a half of design, the team at Fleece Performance Engineering introduced the new mirror finish, billet aluminum, competition cylinder block based off the Cummins ISB platform. Chase Fleece, co-owner of Fleece and Freedom Racing Engines, told us, “Our block was designed to be the strongest aluminum option available.”
“This engine block is designed for the hardcore puller or drag racer and must be run as a dry sump, there were no provisions for liquid cooling,” Chase said. “We at Fleece feel like it is the best blend of form and function.”
These blocks will be offered in a 6.4 or 6.8-liter Cummins, depending on the bore size:
- -4.125 Bore, 6.4-liter Cummins (with a 6.7 Crankshaft)
- -4.250 Bore, 6.8 Cummins (with a 6.7 Crankshaft)
This engine is available with standard or tall deck heights, accepts 12 valve or common rail front timing covers, and accepts 14mm standard length head studs. In addition, the block includes ARP top fuel stepped main studs and cross bolted billet steel or aluminum main cap options.
The block is CNC Machined from forged 6061 aluminum. This cylinder block is built for the utmost strength and weight savings, oh and did we mention it’s capable of 3,000 horsepower? This isn’t just a performance hard part, it is a piece of art once you see it in person. For more information on the block be sure to check out Fleece Performance’s website.
