With late-model Cummins trucks enjoying a boom in popularity, and a growing propensity for custom tuning for the diesel-powered hauler, EFILive is pleased to announce the release of their latest programmer. That’s right folks, EFILive now supports the Cummins HD on-road 2017 and 2018 vehicles. This will allow you to utilize the performance capabilities EFILive offers for your new trucks.
The 2017-plus on-road vehicles are fitted with a green J1939 plug which features a unique pin-out and communications protocol as compared to the 2016 and earlier vehicles. Just so you know, those were typically fitted with a black J1939 plug. A J1939 9-pin green Deutsch connector to a 16-pin OBD-II adapter is required to communicate with the new 2017 and ’18 vehicles. That part adapter plug is now available for purchase from the EFILive store or via an EFILive Authorized Dealer.
The available tuning parameters compare to EFILive’s existing late-model Cummins support, including control over injection events, turbo, and RPM parameters, while the comprehensive Scan Tool delivers the feedback needed to refine tune file changes. A full list of supported engine applications can be found on the Cummins HD Supported Vehicles webpage.
FlashScan HD and AutoCal HD are shipped with a Black J1939 Male to OBDII Female adapter. Unfortunately, the Green J1939 adapter is not included but can be purchased separately. What better way to improve the performance of your new truck than with a new flashscan? For more information regarding EFILive and its products, check out their website.

With EFILive, you can read multiple parameters on a truck. This can be a useful tool as well when troubleshooting.
