Although I wish this was an event alert briefing you on the upcoming event in a few weeks, that isn’t the case. But, we have to make the best of what we’ve got at the moment. With that being said, get your calendars out because the Outlaw Diesel Super Series crew has finalized the 2021 race schedule and you’re not going to miss a single one. Like previous years, the ODSS offers classes for each and every one of you. From stock to full-bore race trucks, they have it all.

Starting the weekend of April 23rd through the 24th, the Outlaw series will be invading Piedmont Dragway in Julian, North Carolina for the Rudy’s Spring Opener. This will more than likely be an enormous turnout as this event is always the big kick-off. People wait all winter long to finally get back to the action and this event will, as always, kill it.
Now, for everyone in pro categories doing experimental things at the season opener has a month off to fix their science projects and meet up again in Indianapolis on May 21st through the 23rd. At Lucas Oil Raceway, ODSS is sharing the stage with the Ultimate Callout Challenge where each of the pro classes will go to war for points and the spotlight with the monstrous UCC crowd.
Post UCC, we’ll be heading back to the Firepunk Diesel Outlaw Revenge at Kil-Kare Dragway in Xenia, Ohio. For those of you not in pro classes, you’re back to racing. Home of the fastest diesel-powered door car, Firepunk’s race is one you can’t miss out on. Put down June 4th through the 5th for this event.
Just a few weeks later, as long as you haven’t broken everything, hit the road again and head towards one of the nicest race tracks on the planet. Virginia Motorsports Park will be filled with nothing but diesel-powered machines on June 25th and 26th for the second annual HollyRock Customs Shootout. We’ll use an eighth of a mile of this quarter-mile race track to see who wins in each of the Outlaw Diesel Super Series classes.
As we reach the midway point of the series, it’s time to head to Crossville, Tennesse, for Rocky Top Diesel Shootout 8. RTDS is always killer. Michael Dalton and the RLC Motorsports guys are hellbent on providing us a quality weekend of action and I am sure they will continue to do so. July 30th through the 31st should be marked down as BUSY now if you’re reading this.
Just because we’re over the hill and heading towards the end of the season doesn’t mean the events get any less fun. In fact, we’re coming up on some of the most fun events of the year. For the second time at this location, the legendary Scheid Diesel Extravaganza is going to be at Wagler Motorsports Park. Wagler’s track did a phenomenal job at the load of people and trucks that came through the gate. Without a doubt, from August 27th through the 28th, you need to be in Lyons, Indiana.
Call your boss, turn in your vacation time, and pack your bags because we’re headed to Florida. One of the most unique events on the Outlaw Diesel Super Series schedule is where we head south to the beautiful Gulf Coast. At the popular Emerald Coast Dragway, we’ll race each of the classes on September 17th and 18th. In my opinion, this is a perfect opportunity for you and the family to head down and spend the week at the beach. Or, if you’d rather go the other way, race when you get there and spend the following week there. The perfect excuse to vacation and race!
Then, closing out our 2021 season, we’ll head back to Piedmont in Julian, North Carolina, and complete the series finale at Rudy’s Fall Truck Jam. We will crown a points champion in each class and hopefully crush the year of 2021 with some new records. October 8th and 9th should be marked down as “ODSS Season Finale”.
