So, we have a situation in the United States that is getting out of hand. Tires are just not lasting as long as they are rated for. Nowhere on a tire rating does it state that the rated mileage does not include burnouts!
Recently, Jakob Herning burned through a set of rear tires on his ’07 LTZ. The truck just absolutely obliterated a set of tires making this short little film! Perhaps it is because of his Maximized Performance Inc (MPI) compounds (S400 with a 75mm compressor wheel feeding his stock turbo) fully cleaning up his 40% over injectors. Or maybe it is the crazy EFILive tuning done by Toney Martino that just cannot be harnessed.
The truck, also, features a fully built transmission built by George Alexander, an Airdog 165, and 5” exhaust. All of the emissions equipment has been removed. The truck itself is Herning’s baby with only 75 thousand miles on it.
On the inside of the truck, the seats and all are leather. Herning lined everything with Dynamat to keep the audio sounding crisp. The audio system features two 12” Kicker CompR’s under the rear seat. They are powered by a Rockford Fosgate 1000 watt amp. The gauges were swapped out for Denali style gauges.
When Herning isn’t totally destroying a set of tires for fun, you can find him at the track running low 12’s in the quarter mile.
Since we still have a few weeks or months before racing starts back up across the country, could someone please find this man a tire sponsor! We want to see more!
