Heavy Duty Preclean For Your Air Before It Enters the Engine.

One of the most wonderful things about the automotive aftermarket is the number of different products that are available to ensure your engine is properly taking care of. Well, the same holds true the in the heavy duty and equipment market. So, whether you are on the job site or out at the farm and you come in contact with a lot of dirt, dust and other containment on a daily basis then keeping your engine clean is more important than ever…especially with the rising costs of equipment parts and repair these days. Now, Turbo Filtration can help with it’s newest high efficiency turbo precleaner for those heavy duty applications. Check out all the details below.

Official Company Release:

The turbo Filtration turbo® Precleaner brand of air intake precleaners set the industry standard more than three decades ago for the rigorous air filtration demands of machines operating in agriculture, off-highway, heavy-duty, military and other demanding environments. Engineered specifically to protect vital engine components, turbo Precleaners are trusted by machine and equipment owners and OEMs to eliminate harmful dust and other contaminants before they can enter the filter and possibly cause harm to the engine. turbo Precleaners are manufactured to protect engines so they can operate at optimal levels longer and more cost effectively than those not protected from harmful contaminants. Designed to ensure smooth and trouble-free service, turbo Precleaners also save time and money by reducing downtime and maintenance needs, by extending the life of primary engine air filters.

The newest addition to the turbo Precleaner line is no exception. As the fifth precleaner in the turbo III line, the turbo 390 delivers the quality and performance the industry has come to expect from the turbo Precleaner brand. The turbo 390 is designed to meet the performance needs of machines requiring airflow between the 300 and 700 cfm range. The turbo 390 features an impact resistant, glass-filled nylon construction, which is weather and rust proof, and its heavy-duty bearings are shielded from contaminants and designed to be maintenance free. With more than 80 percent separation efficiency, tested according to ISO 5011, it removes the vast majority of dust before it even gets to the air filter, enabling air filter elements to last longer between change outs, saving time and money. With a flow range of 300-700 cfm and available in a 5-inch, 6-inch and 7-inch base size, the newest turbo® model can accommodate a number of engine/inlet sizes and a wide variety of machine applications.

“Turbo Precleaners offer the lowest restriction and highest efficiency of any precleaners on the market, which means engines have more available power to apply to the work at hand,” said Tracy Long, turbo Filtration’s director of business development. “What’s more, to ensure the highest available levels of efficiency, we independently test each model to ISO 5011 standards. Our performance data speaks for itself.”

The entire turbo Precleaner line is uniquely designed for high quality and efficiency. Unlike other precleaners that typically use “reverse axial” designs, the turbo® brand employs a straight-through air flow path. This means dirty incoming air enters the top of the unit and flows directly into guide vanes, which pre-rotate the air. The air is then directed into the rotor or working chamber, which is powered suction from the machine’s engine and is rotating at over 10,000 rpm. There, engineered blades create centrifugal force, spinning out of the unit through special discharge ports up to 85 percent of contaminants, many smaller than as 1 micron, including larger particles such as dust, dirt, insects and moisture, ultimately allowing only purified air into the machinery.

With reverse axial designs, dirty air enters the bottom of the precleaner where it must make a U-turn, restricting the air flow and robbing the engine of power. Higher restriction means filters don’t last as long, engines don’t work as efficiently and equipment generally requires more maintenance.

Turbo Filtration, a division of the Dreison International Company, is a diversified Cleveland-based manufacturer of innovative original equipment and aftermarket fan and filtration parts and equipment for transportation machinery and heavy equipment. turbo Filtration designs and engineers products for the construction, mining, oil and gas, military and marine markets, as well as many others.
