Let’s face it, almost everyone in diesel loves some good carnage. Well, the guys over at Industrial Injection know that and posted a recent video of a dyno run which produces quite the nasty outcome for Dmitri Millard (although for Millard, the outcome is relatively mild compared to what usually happens).

According to the video after more than 7 passes at over 175 miles per hour Millard’s 2001 Chevy Duramax churning out 1366 horses on fuel only something was bound to break. Well, when you first start watching the video, it seems like your standard dyno run more or less. The truck starts to spool up and really get going on the rollers. Black smoke begins to pour out of the single exhaust stack in the hood and you expect just a huge number to be thrown down (unless you know Millard’s past dyno history. Then you would be expecting engine parts to start flying.)

But then it happens; BOOM! Parts are flying everywhere, the smoke stops. Did you catch what broke? If not, Industrial Injection was gracious enough to include a slow motion replay of the events. If you missed it the first time, then you surly caught the driveshaft flying out in pieces.

Oh, the sadness. We all know how he feels, just when you think you have it all set right and are really ready to make big things happen, it’s Murphy’s law that something would break. And sometimes it is not the easiest part to fix or the cheapest! Knowing Millard, he will be back ready to break more records and put on a show. He has been one of the highest horsepower Duramax trucks in the country for years.
