What drives you? Some of us can point to a specific thing that drives us to do the things we do. Others, may have to think long and hard about what actually drives them. Why do we do what we do? You could be doing anything right now, but you opted to open this article and read it (Thank you by the way).

Where it all began.

Where it all began.

For Charles Grubb, he is building this dream truck to pay tribute to his and his wife’s grandpas. Both of them served (Grubb’s grandpa was actually a World War II vet and his wife’s grandpa was a Vietnam vet) and recently passed away.

Grubb grew up helping his dad build show trucks and he has always wanted to. So, when the opportunity presented itself to build his ’12 Mega Cab, he jumped on it to pay tribute to both of his Grandpas.

The truck/project is going by the code name Blackhawk. It is being built by the guys at Reese’s Truck Pieces in Burnet, Texas. Thanks to Showtime Metal Works, the truck will be at this year’s SEMA Show. (Aren’t familiar with the SEMA Show, here is our coverage from last year. Start with the hottest girls and trucks video.)

The truck is still pretty early in the fabrication phase and with the SEMA Show, it was a little tough getting images of this upcoming show truck. We were able to talk with Grubb about the truck and some of the modifications that are being made.

“I want to thank Showtime Metal Works for supplying the bumpers, grill, traction bars and making my dream come true by having me at SEMA! Also a big thanks to Reeses Truck Pieces for supporting the build and building Blackhawk. This build wouldn’t be where it is if it wasn’t for the help of my good friend and fellow truck builder Cris Payne, aka Truck Guru. He has helped me and Blackhawk get to where we wanna be,” said Grubb.

The truck, currently, has a McGaughys lift to clear the 24” American Force Wheels wrapped in Falken 37×13.5R24’s. The exterior will, also, be receiving an A.R.E. Accessories camper shell, Showtime Metal Works bumpers, grille, and traction bars as well as Oracle halo headlights, Bushwacker fender flares and Westin light bars.

For performance under the hood, the truck will feature a complete MBRP exhaust system, H&S Performance tuner as well as a K&N air intake.

Inside the cab, there will be custom lighting by Nate D’s Customs.
