Function and capability, two words that usually, describe your truck. The folks at A.R.E. Accessories understand your needs and are releasing and prototyping new products that are just what you have been looking for and are more capable than ever before.
The most substantial new product coming from A.R.E. is their new series of fiberglass shells called the ToolMaster series. These are all fiberglass like their other shells, but what makes these capable of doing so much more, is the new internal skeleton. The skeleton distributes the weight from the shell to the bed. Thus, the shell doesn’t have to support all of the weight. “This new ToolMaster HD cap will allow us to double almost triple the capacity,” said Andy Clutter, Marketing Manager for A.R.E. Accessories.
The shell is able to be paired with a roof rack to carry the oversized items (ladders and what not) and the sides open for access to tool boxes. Optional LED lighting can be installed to help see when you are working early in the morning or late at night.
Right now, Clutter is estimating these to be available first quarter next year.
One really cool prototype they were showing at their booth was a hard tonneau cover, that has the same functionality of a regular tonneau cover, but it can, also, roll up. So, the tonneau cover lifts up as a whole like a standard tonneau cover does for regular use. Then if you need to hook up a trailer, simply roll the cover up and you have top access to your bed. While this is still a very early concept, it is a very cool concept.
Another tonneau cover they were displaying is directly aimed at those who are looking for aggressive styling. These new tonneau covers have built in louver and bulges to really help set the rear of the truck off. These bulges aren’t just for looks, they have some functionality too. Brake lights are mounted in the cover and there are optional Rigid Industries LED lighting for these new tonneau covers.
If you are really looking for a product that is designed to look good and function for a long time, you may want to give A.R.E. a look.
