Alliant Power has introduced a new line of hand tools for the diesel technician and enthusiast. Now available is a wide range of high end injector brushes specifically designed to clean the injector bore. Matt Heacox of Alliant Power explained to us the importance of cleaning the injector bore whenever an injector is removed.
To paraphrase Matt; if there is debris in the injector bore, and the chamber gasket seal surface is not cleaned upon re-installation of an injector, the debris can allow combustion gasses to bypass the gasket and damage the injector. When you have injectors worth hundreds of dollars, it is important to take a methodical approach to cleanliness. Brush kits are available for Ford, Dodge, GM, Navistar, and Caterpillar. Please reference the Alliant Power Application Guide or website for specific applications.
Moving on to the Ford 6.4L Power Stroke, Alliant Power is excited to announce the release of the highly anticipated AP0077, Fuel Injector Harness Tool. The 6.4L injector electrical connectors are made of plastic and can become brittle over time. When using the AP0077 tool, the technician can avoid damaging the connectors and unneeded replacement of the entire injector harness.
Additionally, Alliant Power has released a tool for removing the glow plug harness on the Ford 6.0L Power Stroke and Navistar VT365. The AP0078 Glow Plug Harness Tool will save you from pulling on the harness in a fit of frustration to dislodge your glow plug connectors, and ultimately damaging the harness.
Alliant Power tools are made in the USA and feature their 13-month unlimited mileage warranty. Now you can have OEM tech style tools at a fraction of the cost you might be charged when approaching the original manufacturer of your vehicle.
Your diesel truck is a large investment for you; maybe you use it for work, or you are just emotionally invested in diesel trucks as a hobby, why not invest in the tools to keep that investment running for many years to come? Also available from Alliant Power
