Many women love jewelry of any kind. Earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings. Sure, gold is still the main material for it, but platinum is a step above, and what woman wouldn’t love a good chunk of shiny platinum? For Kelli Hunsaker from Las Vegas, Nevada, her platinum obsession is way more than jewelry, it also carries over to trucks – like her 2017 Ford F250 Platinum that not only shines in that desert sun, but has also proven its timeless value.

Kelli will say she married into this passion. Her husband Brett has been modifying vehicles since high school and there was no way he was going to stop, so she jumped in and has fallen in love with the process of each project and loves the diversity of the builds they have their hands on. Kelli says, “From EV, to classic, to lifted or lowered, I love them all.” We asked Kelli why she bought this truck, she said “Why not? Don’t get me wrong, I love the speed and power of my Tesla, but nothing beats the drive, feel and look of a lifted truck. Especially when they see me jump out or climb in, as I am only 5-foot 3 inches tall.”

Kelli picked this truck up in May 2019 after falling in love with it at the 2018 SEMA Show. She loved the look of the build and when she saw it was for sale in Texas, she had to have it. Growing up around horses and doing rodeo events, Kelli said that’s why she likes lifted trucks – she’s a cowgirl at heart. Being this truck was a full-out SEMA build, it already had a ton of work done to it that made it a beast from the time she picked it up, but she and her husband still had to put their flair to it.

Covering the Bases

The first thing anyone notices about this F250 is the white powder coated 16-inch max Kelderman adjustable air suspension that allows the truck to air out to climb into easier, then lift to make it an absolute beast when on the road. Handling the air suspension is an Air Lift Performance 3H air management, two FLO billet air tanks, and two Viair compressors. All installed by Shawn Robinson at OMC (Old Man Customs) in Las Vegas, Nevada. For rollers, there is a set of 26×16 American Force wheels that had a little white added to them to continue the white theme, which are wrapped in 42×16.50-26 Fury tires.

The stock brakes manage to halt these massive rollers, but of course they had to be color matched as well to tuck a little more custom into each corner. Not only is all the suspension powder coated white, but the AFE Power oil pan, transmission covers, and differential covers have all been coated to match.

More practical upgrades like lighting came next. A set of Kelderman front and rear bumpers were added and stuffed with Rigid Industry lighting. The color matched headlights and Kelderman grille make sure the front end is as aggressive as it can be. Out back the Retrax electric bed cover and Bedrug keep the packages dry and secure in the bed when Kelli takes the truck shopping. Underneath, Hornblasters Shocker S6 train horns were installed once they were color matched as well.

Even though the factory platinum white paint was still in flawless condition, Kelli still wanted something extra, so she took the truck to Mario Baratta at Madhouse Customs in Las Vegas, Nevada to get the entire truck wrapped in a satin frozen vanilla. This gave the truck a whole new feel and look. Inside is still flawless with the factory Platinum level interior, but several pieces were wrapped to bring some white into the cab. Under the rear seat is a custom box with 8-inch Powerbass subs to add a little bump while cruising the Las Vegas strip. 

Perfect Companion

Having a huge diesel truck so Kelli and Brett can hit the shows together is just a small part of the things this truck does. They also use it to tow Brett’s enclosed trailer to shows all over the country with his magazine cover truck – an over the top built, Ford Ranger known as the “Stranger.” That’s right, this truck is more than just a massive SEMA show piece, it actually gets used like a work truck. Don’t worry, this won’t be the last full custom truck you see from Kelli, she’s also working on doing a Ford F100 body swap onto a Tesla chassis, so I’m sure this Super Duty will be seen pulling her new truck from show to show as well.
