During our tour of the SEMA Show, we caught up with the folks at Pacbrake, a British Columbia-based manufacturer, which produces a number of products geared toward the truck and towing industry — from air suspension to onboard air management products, to supplemental brakes and valves for on-off highway vehicles and stationary machines.
One such product that really speaks to the truck market is their engine brake. The one seen here is the P-67 LoadLeash Engine Brake designed specifically for the Cummins 6.7-liter or PX-7 Paccar diesel engines. This is an extremely innovative product that would be a real asset to the owners of these engines, hauling something really heavy, in excess of 10,000 or 12,000 pounds.
The system is designed to work in conjunction with the factory installed exhaust brake. The key to the design is that the LoadLeash simply replaces the factory installed rocker cover spacer, making this a straightforward installation, with no requirement of engine modifications.
This combination of the factory installed exhaust brake and the Load Leash engine brake equals to more than 300 horsepower of the factory system alone, for the ultimate in control and safety!
The operation is seamless and quiet, providing the true peace of mind. Also, you can use this brake anywhere without having to worry about the municipal noise bylaws.
