The folks at CP-Carrillo were kind enough to give us a rundown on its latest products that were on display at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bryce Mulvey, domestic sales manager of CP-Carrillo, began by introducing some of the new and exciting diesel-specific components that are available for Cummins and Duramax diesel applications.
“We have our standard CP-Carrillo connecting rods which diesel enthusiasts have been using for decades now–as well as our new connecting rods available,” Mulvey told us. “Our new heavy duty connecting rods available have been dyno tested at more than 2,800 horsepower at the rear tires.”
Mulvey continued by giving us a rundown on its all-new hybrid connecting rod assemblies.
“These connecting rods are definitely something special,” Mulvey explained. “We’ve taken an inspiration from both the Duramax and the Cummins style of connecting rods. This design uses a Cummins piston and connecting rod, utilizing a Duramax pin, and allow for the assembly to be even longer. This assembly removes two-pounds of rotating mass off of each cylinder for a total weight savings of twelve pounds up front for Cummins applications.”
Mulvey conveyed that the Duramax piston and connecting rod assembly offers a half of a pound for weight savings per assembly.
