Eibach, the leading spring company world wide with suspension parts on everything from Formula One to NASCAR to rallying and off-road trucks, continues its development and interest in trucks and off-road performance. Eibach PRO-TRUCK Shocks continue the tradition of performance and quality in keeping the wheels firmly attached to the driving surface. According to Marketing Director, Mark Krumme, “These new PRO-TRUCK Shocks are designed for off-road performance, on-road comfort and built like you would expect from Eibach — of the highest quality.”
Like all its products, Eibach designed and built these shocks in-house. In the manufacturing process the shocks are made from 46 mm steel tubing cut to application specific lengths. Then each nitrocarburized-hardened rod is chosen for specific applications and shock types.
Large 5/8 inch rods are used for additional strength required for street and off-road use. Once cut, the shock tube is threaded and machined for fitment of the mounting brackets then TIG welded and nitrogen pressure tested to ensure consistency and service life. They are then honed for optimal performance of gas and oil seals. The piston rod is then machined for vehicle specific fitment, rebound adjustment system and piston assembly.
The shock body is coated with a proprietary process that limits corrosion and provides long-lasting durability. The body and piston are then brought together using high-quality seals, racing shock oil and nitrogen, creating a floating gas piston.
We look forward to testing Eibach’s new PRO-TRUCK Sport-R shocks, as they are hot off the press. Krumme said, “They are so new we only have this one set of clean prototypes to display for SEMA, but major production is currently underway”
