No more famous words — beyond “gentlemen start your engines”— have been uttered in racing beyond “a five cent part put us out of the race.” When a radiator cap vibrates off, the consequences can be catastrophic.

This led to an idea of “double locking” the filler cap in place, which could be just one more stopgap to cooling system failures. High revving and violently idling motors cause vibration. Vibration causes the increased probability that anything not completely secured in place will shake its way off. SafeCap eliminates this probability.
