Day 1 of the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada is underway, and we are stopping at all the booths to get the latest on the latest and greatest parts in the automotive industry. Axle wrap is one key issue with our trucks at certain horsepower levels.
We caught up with Christian Roth of BD Diesel Performance to get all the information on the new BD Traction Bar Kits for the 2500 and 3500 Dodge models, this kit will be available and ready to install upon order. This is a key part that will harness the axle to the frame, keeping the pinion angle within tolerance.
The overall length of the tubes are 58 inches and they are built using two-inch tubing, heim joints at the front of the bar, and a polyurethane joint on the frame rails.
“What the traction bars actually do, is prevent axle wrap,” Roth said. “Under heavy acceleration, the pinion will try to aim toward the sky and these have been designed to prevent that rotation and stabilize the rearend.”
The average install time on these traction bars is four hours, Roth told us. “These traction bars are designed to let the driver experience the bars, not feel the movement of other bars,” Roth continued. “With these installed you can expect better stability and improved traction.”
Be sure and check back with the rest of the newest parts in the industry being released this week here at the 2017 SEMA Show.
