’86 Ford F-350 6.7 Power Stroke Conversion From Lead Foot Diesel

In an attempt to block the noise of family arguments and the grandparent’s snoring, some find themselves lost in the internet on their cellphone during this holiday season. For me, trapped inside the abyss of what is Facebook, I stumbled upon a seriously cool truck from Lead Foot Diesel Performance.
What may look like your ordinary 1986 Ford F-350 that has been restored or at least taken care of, there is more to the story. This truck has some skeletons in its closet or in this case, horsepower and torque under the hood.

Seeing this, I immediately reached out to Lead Foot because I knew you guys would love this thing. The new engine / old truck concept has just been intriguing and I hope the trend continues. I got ahold of Ricky Miles with Lead Foot and he gave me the rundown on this show stopper.
“Our owner of Lead Foot Diesel Performance, Jonathan Brooklyn, he inherited this truck when he was 15 years old after the passing of his father,” said Miles. “Since that point, the truck has undergone quite a few transformations but this build stage seems to be the most fitting and popular.”

Back in the 2000s where the first transformation was done.

“It started life as a 460ci Big Block V8 Ford engine and that transitioned into the beloved 6.0-Liter Power Stroke in the mid-2000s. In the last three years, things have really turned a page as it’s been through a major restoration.” So, along with some obviously much better looking exterior paint, what else is upgraded?

What hasn’t, really. Pop that old steel hood to reveal a modern 6.7-liter Power Stroke engine. The engine is stock though, right? Ha. Miles explained to me that this powerplant is making in the neighborhood of 800-horsepower and even utilizes the 2011-2016 Super Duty dash and gauges.
“This truck has been upgraded quite a bit. We have utilized some of the industry’s finest parts to complement the caliber of this build including Maryland Performance Diesel non-VGT turbo and plumbing setup, a FASS Diesel fuel system, and a set of dual fuelers,” Miles says.
Riding on a set of Super Duty axles, the ’86 has a Full Traction suspension system to get all 800-horsepower to the ground. To help initiate traction, the truck rides on a set of custom 16.5-inch Weld wheels wrapped in 39.5-inch Super Swamper tires. Something about the small wheel and big tire just really looks good.
Thanks to Ricky for working with me on this and thanks to Lead Foot Diesel Performance for putting it together. It is a very pretty and very unique truck. They’ve got even more cool things brewing in the background and I’m looking forward to sharing those with you soon. For more truck features, stay tuned right here at Diesel Army.
