If you own a late-model diesel, you know all about the emissions device simply called the DPF filter. The Diesel Particulate Filter was first found on 2007 diesels and is designed to capture soot particles before they can escape the exhaust. Since mandated by the EPA, this filter is an essential component of any modern diesel engine. Unfortunately, they can become clogged/blocked over time, and when this happens, many unsuspecting diesel owners simply “delete” the filter — which is not condoned — or replace the filter. Replacement isn’t cheap. Fortunately, the folks at Liqui Moly have developed a DPF Filter cleaning system to get a DPF effectively cleaned and not need to pay an exorbitant replacement cost.
Liqui-Moly Pro-Line Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner allows a certified Liqui Moly Pro-Line Shop to clean the blocked DPF filter without removing it. The cleaner frees up clogged particulate filters without removal by way of a simple pressurized spray probe that is inserted into the DPF by way of a sensor opening. Once the cleaner is sprayed into the filter, it dissolves all of the deposits in the DFP. Once the cleaner is sprayed into the filter, wait for 10 minutes and then spray the entire bottle of Pro-Line Purge into the Diesel Particulate Filter, disturbing all the deposits. The last step is to use a scanner to do a manual regen to complete the cleaning process. Unfortunately, DPF filter cleaning with Liqui Moly is not a DIY kit.
