A Better Gooseneck Hitch To Make Towing Safer And Less Stressful

When it comes to towing, there are several hitch designs that can get the job done: A receiver hitch that mounts under the truck, a fifth wheel, or a gooseneck. While a receiver hitch is a great design, when it comes to pulling heavier loads in a pickup truck, the gooseneck and fifth-wheel designs win, hands down.

If you’re using a gooseneck-style hitch I am certain you know the benefits of doing so, but there are also some aspects that make a gooseneck hitch tiresome. It seems that no matter how well you load your trailer, there is a continual jerking motion exerted on the truck and this can definitely cause driver fatigue, safety concerns, and undo wear and tear. Luckily, when it comes to safer towingAir Safe Hitches has a way to eliminate that jerking motion.

Air Safe offers a huge selection of air hitches. Innovation and engineering insure you receive the safest and smoothest ride. But what is an “air hitch”? The Air Safe air hitch is a gooseneck-style hitch that incorporates an airbag to absorb the unwanted jerking motion felt when towing. This unwanted motion between the tow vehicle and the trailer and greatly reduce as the hitch “works” against the airbag. The Air safe gooseneck hitch is engineered so the connection to the trailer is separated from the connection to the tow vehicle by the airbag.

Installation is easy as the Air Safe hitch simply replaces your trailer’s stock round or square ball receiver. The Air Safe hitch features a 36,000-pound rated solid steel coupler machined from solid bar stock insuring the best ball connection offered in the industry today. Inside the neck tube are two solid pieces of self-lubricating Nyoil Blocks which allow for smooth maintenance-free up and down movement.

These units are tough, durable, and maintenance-free and feature two heavy-duty airbags. These airbags are connected together allowing air to move back and forth with absorbs the jerking motion and surging caused by a rigid connection. Simply adjust the air pressure levels to the clearly marked height. Once you have the air set you do not need to release the air when you disconnect, just unhook from the ball and the next time you connect it will go back to the same level as before. All you need is a portable air pump or any air compressor to adjust the air if needed.

The Air Safe gooseneck hitch does not work with a fifth-wheel trailer using a gooseneck adapter to connect the trailer to the gooseneck ball on the truck. Please call for additional information if you have or plan to use this type of adapter.

If you’re tired of your gooseneck trailer beating you up as you travel, then it’s time you invest in a quality Air Safe Hitch that takes the shock out of towing.
