If you’ve been following us here for a while, you know that we did an upgrade on Project TowBoat a few years ago with BD Diesel Performance‘s Screamer turbo. This was an addition to our Pusher Intakes Add-A-Turbo Kit and we were thrilled at the results. If you’re rocking a stock turbo, just the upgrade to a Screamer turbo yields huge improvements.

BD Diesel saw the popularity of this line of turbos and did what they needed to spread that support down to the popular 2003-2007 5.9-liter Cummins equipped trucks. This drop-in, stock-appearing turbocharger features custom compressor and turbine wheels that increase airflow without sacrificing the needed low-end power and torque.

Their larger 67mm turbine wheel creates a free-flowing exhaust that really opens up your Cummins engine. Each unit has a date with BD’s high-speed VSR turbo balancer where it is balanced and fine-tuned to safely increase your boost levels. With 39-psi of boost, along with the supporting modifications, these Screamer turbos are capable of up to 625-horsepower and can work with any “box” tuner.

For those of you who are looking for a great upgrade on your everyday driver, this is perfect. Any of you who sled pull in a “stock appearing” turbo class, you’ve got a quick-reacting turbocharger that is capable of plenty of horsepower and torque. Lastly, for those of you who are looking for compound turbos and want to ditch the factory turbo, this works great.
