Give Your Rig An Intercooler Upgrade With A Deal From MDC Diesel

It’s no secret that the cooler the air your engine breathes, the better it will perform. To that end, if you have been pondering a potential intercooler upgrade, now might just be the perfect time to make the leap. MDC Diesel Performance has recently unveiled a new promotion, offering Smeding Diesel intercoolers at rock-bottom prices. In fact, MDC is offering the bulk of Smeding Diesel intercoolers within their inventory at prices averaging $100 below retail.

A deep discount to this degree ultimately allows consumers to save a few bucks that can be redirected toward the purchase of additional upgrades. Even more importantly, the quality of the intercoolers offered by Smeding Diesel speaks for itself, leaving little doubt as to the value afforded by MDC’s latest offer.

intercooler upgrade

The idea of upgrading a truck’s intercooler is definitely noteworthy. Not only does an aftermarket intercooler look slick beneath a truck’s hood, but it also provides a host of technical advantages as well. This is especially evident in trucks that have already undergone some degree of modification.

When attempting to squeeze every ounce of performance out of your diesel, the true value of an efficient intercooler becomes quite obvious. While a diesel engine’s turbocharger converts heat energy into boost, the temperature of this pressurized intake air is less than ideal when attempting to achieve optimal combustion efficiency. This is precisely the point at which an engine’s intercooler comes into play.

This is of great significance, as cooler air is naturally more oxygen-dense than warm air. As most would guess, this cooler, oxygen-dense charge-air is more volatile, thereby yielding higher combustion efficiency and reduced emissions production.

Enhanced aftermarket intercoolers, such as those currently being sold at a discount by MDC Diesel, prove more capable of reducing charge-air temperatures, to a noticeable degree. In most cases, this is due to the increased volume of these intercoolers, as well as their use of less-restrictive end tanks.

Most any modified diesel can reap the benefits of an intercooler upgrade. However, these results are perhaps most evident when paired with an upgraded aftermarket turbo. This stems from the fact that larger intercoolers tend to be less restrictive than their stock counterparts, due to their larger internal volume.

Likewise, higher-efficiency aftermarket intercoolers also tend to be far more capable of cooling the increased volume of charge-air provided by larger high-performance turbos. Again, this equates to increased combustion efficiency, enhanced performance, and reduced EGTs.

Included within MDC’s current promo are a number of specialty intercoolers, designed for use in several of the industry’s most popular trucks. This most notably includes available options for the 5.9-liter Cummins, 6.7-liter Cummins, and 6.0-liter Power Stroke.
