Titan Fuel Tanks will soon start shipping its latest creation: A 48-gallon replacement fuel tank for 2018-19 Ford F-150 pickups. Highlights include larger fuel capacity, heavy-duty construction, a mid-ship design. It’s coming for a highly anticipated application, too: the 3.0-liter Power Stroke model.
This jet-black tank features a baked epoxy-coating and galvanized steel mounting straps. It comes complete with a unique low fuel trap design that allows access to every last drop of liquid. Hanging just 1.9 inches below the bottom of the stock tank, this unit utilizes Titan Fuel Tanks’ latest “Generation 6” architecture. This lets it use a Torque Ring and an OEM-style sending unit mounting system for easy installation. Forget cutting, drilling, and fabrication, as this unit requires none of the above. According to Titan Fuel Tanks, this setup is a game-changer for those looking to get the most out of every fill-up. Once installed, “this tank gives your F-150 a range of over 1,400 miles!”
Another interesting factor is its cross-linked polymer (XLHDPE) construction. XLHDPE is a material that is utilized across much of Titan’s portfolio. The tank is guaranteed to be at least .25-inch thick, a feature that the company claims will help its products “outlast all competitors.” Designed to be tougher than steel, yet far more durable than aluminum, this polymer is like nothing else on the market.
“The F-150 has a very tight chassis, there is stuff everywhere,” said Titan’s Mike DeFord. “But that is where making tanks out of cross-linked polymer has one of its many advantages. We made a tank that forms around virtually anything to provide a perfect fit with no wasted space. Ours is the easiest and quickest tank to install; the total process takes less than 90 minutes! And at 48 usable gallons, the tank allows drivers to extend their mileage by hundreds of miles, all with the peace of mind of having a top-quality product, the only replacement fuel tank made in the USA and backed by a Lifetime Warranty.”
As with all of Titan Fuel Tanks’ products, this new design for the 2018-19 Ford F-150 is 100-percent made in the USA, has undergone extensive testing, and comes backed by a lifetime warranty. Shipping is slated to begin the first week of April, 2019, and pricing is set at $1,249 a pop. If you’re game to boost your range, go check out more by visiting the Titan Fuel Tanks website.
