The Pusher Coolant Reroute Fixes Race And Off-Road 6.7L Cummins Leak

If you’ve performed a race or off-road-only conversion on your 6.7-liter Cummins, you know about the messy bundle of unsupported coolant hoses left behind when the EGR cooler is removed. The Problem With The Factory Setup

After an off-road or race conversion, the factory coolant riser tube loses its main support structure. This allows the entire assembly to vibrate excessively whenever the engine is running. As the Pusher Intakes video points out, this constant vibration is notorious for causing the built-in flex joint in the factory tube to fail, leading to coolant leaks all over the engine. The bulky factory tube also occupies valuable real estate, making it difficult to install popular upgrades like a second-gen style turbo swap or a high-mount compound turbo system.

The installation process focuses on modifying the factory riser tube to accept a new billet adapter, and the video provides some critical tips. The host strongly warns against using a pipe cutter to shorten the factory tube, as it can deform the pipe and prevent the new O-ring from sealing properly. He recommends a bandsaw or cutoff wheel for a clean, square cut. The host calls the most important step deburring, where the inside of the cut tube must be chamfered into a funnel shape.

The kit includes a plug to block off the old EGR coolant port in the cylinder head.
