Things Heat Up In Sulphur Springs As The TTTPA Pulls Into Town

Texas Truck and Tractor Pulling Association (TTTPA) pull in Sulphur Springs, TX October 19, 2013:

This time in the pulling season is always fun for us here at Diesel Army! As the pulling season starts to wind down, the pullers are starting to figure out what is and isn’t working with their trucks. So, pullers who were 20 and 30 feet behind everyone consistently, are now taking over the “top spots”. When it comes to the points’ race, it is “these guys” who can really throw a wrench in the standings.

Jared Green in Texas Smoke has been on fire lately. It seems like every pull Diesel Army attends he stands on the podium.

They haven’t been at the top enough to be a contender in points, but they are starting to take home wins and consequently, they are pushing the top trucks apart. So, two guys who are normally one place apart may find themselves two to three places apart during this time of year.

That is exactly what is happening with the Super Street Diesel class in the TTTPA. When we first ran into Darvin Bradley in “Half Breed”, he couldn’t stay on top of his charger at the end of the track and he was regularly finishing in the middle of the pack. After some tuning and driving changes, Bradley is consistently on the podium putting room between Chris Ryan in “Mutt” and Buck Hyndman in “Ready 2 Rumble”. In addition, to Bradley standing on top of the podium more often, Jared Green in “Texas Smoke” is regularly finishing in the top as well. It is almost “too bad” that the points start accruing at the beginning of the season instead of mid-season. I think we would be watching a completely different race if it was based on this time of year.

In the Hot Farm class, most of the pullers had things figured out pretty early in the season and we aren’t seeing the same type of movement by the guys further back on the list. From a fan’s perspective, you just get to see great pulling action this time of year. For the TTTPA, the Championship pull will be held, once again, in San Antonio, Texas, November 8th and 9th. If you aren’t local to Texas, it is well worth looking around to see what pulling leagues are in your area for your viewing or participating pleasure.
