It is always a great day when a new project shows up. We recently had Mickey Thompson‘s all-new Deegan 38 All-Terrain tire show up. This is a new tire to the lineup for 2017 and goes with the Deegan 38 Mud-Terrain that is already on the market.
“The Deegan 38 A/T is the perfect addition to the Deegan 38 lineup,” said Ken Warner, Vice President of Marketing for Mickey Thompson. “From the tread compound to the SideBiters design, we’ve given attention to every detail to make this one of the most impressive all-terrain tires we offer.”
The tire was developed with racing icon Brian Deegan. The tread design of the Deegan 38 A/T features a silica-reinforced compound and special siping for traction, cut and chip-resistance, and handling and braking in wet and off-road conditions.
Tread edge chamfers and variable draft angles resist stone retention, while tread element tie bars enhance stability and responsiveness on changing road conditions. Angled shoulder scallops and aggressive two-pitch SideBiters improve traction.
We will be pairing the Deegan 38 All-Terrain tire with a Dick Cepek Matrix wheel while installing the combo on a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with a 8-180mm bolt pattern. The tire comes with a 60,000-mile (P-metric) and 55,000-mile (light truck Metric sizes) limited tread wear warranty.
Stay tuned for our full review on the tire and how it compares to the mud-terrain version. To find a size for your vehicle be sure to check out Mickey Thompson’s website.
