Welcome back to Diesels On The Web, where we look around the internet for what’s cooking with regard to diesel. From general topics to videos to forums and more, we invite you to get a quick peek at how diesel showed up on the information superhighway this week.

One video that caught our eye was this one by Cummins Kyle. He and his friends were out having a good time in northern New Jersey recently, and decided to post a video of the adventure. The video showed the guys driving around in a third-gen Cummins, getting stuck in some mud, and having to walk back to Kyle’s second-gen Cummins to pull out the stuck truck.
However, commenters on the video took a dim view of what happened. Several of them accused the young men of destroying a portion of a cornfield while mudding. Top comments berated the boys for their “fake ass southern accents,” or threatened to “f— you up if you came in my field and did that s–t.”
Mudding, getting stuck, and extraction in an unharvestable section of acornfield – all in good fun, or wild and reckless?
With so much controversy swirling in the comments and nearly a third of the total votes being downvotes, we had to know more. We reached out to Kyle to get his take on the situation. “My buddy had just picked up this third-gen, a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500,” he explained. “We were gonna see how it did against my second-gen 1998 Dodge, and have some fun while sharing it with the viewers.”
The group headed to a cornfield belonging to the father of another friend (also in the video). It was, according to Kyle, a section with unharvestable corn, so it wouldn’t matter anyway. “People were freaking out, saying the corn was destroyed,” said Kyle. “We were at the edge of the cornfield, just providing entertainment.”
The great battle of our time: stacking up the 6.7L Cummins versus the 6.7L Power Stroke.
Over on /r/diesel, user sixohstrokin wanted to know the pros and cons of the 6.7-Liter Cummins versus the 6.7-liter Power Stroke. People were quick to let the man know what they thought.
“Cummins has 33% less moving parts,” said metalgearsolid371. “Also if you plan to work on your own vehicle, when the time comes, Dodge is 10 times easier.”
Fellow Redditor Flys_Lo had quite a bit to say, but his vote went towards the Super Duties. “I sat on the sidelines for two years before putting my money down,” he said. “I am glad I got the Ford, although I was disappointed at the time, since they no longer offered a stick shift (I still am a bit, but the 6R140 has really impressed me for an Auto).”
alanack6795 offered his two cents, plus some good advice. “Test drive both trucks, see what you get for the price and warranty. Pop the hood and try to get an idea for how hard they will be to work on in the future. Don’t think you can go wrong with either truck, but I’ll always be a Dodge guy.”
