One of the biggest looks in off-road wheels are beadlocks, but for those that cannot run non-DOT wheels, this has been an issue. Dirty Life released a new DOT-Approved beadlock wheel that will give everyone the availability to run beadlocks.
“The wheels can be mounted in two different positions,” Joe Podlovits explained. “If you mount the wheel from the front to the back on the J-lip the wheel is in a DOT or street legal position. If the tire is mounted to the front bead with a race ring, it would put the wheel in an off-road only use position.”
The new Dirty Life DOT-approved beadlock wheels feature replacement rings that can change the look on the vehicle.
Out of the box, the wheel comes with a plastic ring or rash ring that is a high-density ABS plastic ring bolts on and gives it a simulated beadlock look. The rash ring does cover the front flange and you cannot run the wheel in a beadlock position.
“There is a secondary ring that is more of a fashion ring that changes the design of the wheel, but can also be removed and color-matched to a vehicle,” Podlovits continued. “Another option would be to run the forged race ring, which is the same on the Roadkill race wheel, and give the wheel the traditional beadlock effect.”
Dirty Life featured a tricked out overland prerunner in their booth which featured two different styles of wheels.
