If drag racing diesels get you excited, then you should be checking out this upcoming event headed to the I-40 Dragway in Crossville, Tennessee. It’s the Rocky Top Diesel Shootout, presented by Beans Diesel Performance and RLC Motorsports.
Get your Duramax, Power Stroke, or Cummins up and running for this event, because it won’t be one you can afford to miss. That’s chiefly due to the purse, which is now worth $30,000.
Thirty thousand dollars, folks. That’s a new diesel right there, or a slew of new parts for making that rolling coal of yours perform even better on the blacktop. Or maybe that’s just enough dinero to finance some awesome vacation or cross-country road trip you’ve been dreaming of.
A few details about the race are still in the air, but we do know there will be nine classes you can compete in. These include the sled pull classes: Work Stock, 2.5 BOB (Battle of Bluegrass) 2.6 and 3.0 PPL (Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League), and perhaps the most fun of all the classes, the RWYB (Run What Ya Brung) class. Drag racing classes include E.T., 7.70, 7.0, and Pro Street.
Any way you look at it, the Rocky Top Diesel Shootout should prove to be a good time. Check out details about date and time, class rules, and more by visiting the Rocky Top Diesel Shootout Facebook page.
