Welcome back to Wrecked Truck Friday – WTF – as we continue to check out the recently deceased rigs out there in need of a rescue. This week, we’re checking out a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado in Dallas, Texas.
It never ceases to amaze us just how easily someone will manage to wreck a brand new truck. Some people really do have rotten luck, and the previous owner on this midsize pickup is one such person.
IAA assures us that the Colorado runs and drives; how well it runs and drives is another matter entirely. We can tell right away that the truck got sandwiched between something bad and something worse. It appears as though it took the rear hit first (a nasty hit, at that) and then nudged up against a car or obstacle in front, which bent the hood up pretty good.
Speaking of the hood, underneath it is the relatively new 2.8-liter Duramax I4. This is the first midsize of the 21st century to have a diesel and be made available in the States. So far, people seem to have taken a liking to it, reporting good numbers in terms of MPG, and a reliable drivetrain that gets the job done.
With all that it has going for and against it, we think the Colorado deserves a second shot. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
