The place: a lonely country road. The time: sundown. The vehicle: a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500, sporting a hood stack, front weight bracket, traction bars and a few running lights.

What happens? A doubly smoky burnout, courtesy of Jasen Holt, the owner of the badass 2nd gen Dodge in question. As seen in the video, Holt’s “mostly stock” (as he puts it) truck sets up at one end of the road, and in short order has the Cummins show-stopper spooled up and raring to go.

Smoke fills the air as tires burn and pistons churn to create what could be the sickest burnout seen in Holt’s neck of the woods. The badass display of torque and horsepower puts the camerawoman in a coughing fit as the smoke drifts past her position on the road’s shoulder.

And while most of the community viewing the video through the Ozarks Diesel Club Facebook page gives an overwhelming approval of “Hell yeah!”, the random environmentally-minded naysayer popped up to offer their pathetic two cents. Fortunately, the vast majority of commenters there to celebrate the Ram’s awesome show of diesel power quickly drowned out any hand-wringing over the concerns of ozone depletion.

Jokers had a field day with the video, posting sarcastic suggestions and tips for others to replicate the kind of terrific power seen in the Ram. One commenter suggested that “high flow muffler bearings” were to thank, while another credited ECU chips: “Chips do wonders. Cool Ranch Doritos make my car haul ass.”
