Mini-Feature: Dalton Mullens’ 2017 F-350 Rocks Fab Fours Bumpers

We all know that getting the truck to look the way we want it to can be difficult. Which set of wheels? What sorts of lights? These are the questions we, as truck enthusiasts, ask whenever we get our hands on a new rig and need to get it prepped for action.

For Dalton Mullens, the way to go was to take his brand-new 2017 Ford F-350 and drive it over to Extreme Truck Stuff in Jacksonville, Florida. This was the same shop that did wonders to Jacksonville Jaguars center Brandon Linder’s F-350, which we covered a few months ago.

Coming from a 2008 6.4-liter Power Stroke, Dalton was skeptical of the fourth-generation Super Duty. "I wasn't really a fan of the '17s, to be honest," he commented. "Their design threw me off. But after test-driving one, I decided they were actually pretty nice."

Dalton had to have his 2017 F-350 be all that it could be in his own eyes. Extreme Truck Stuff was able to put his vision into reality, starting with a six-inch Fabtech lift kit. “I went with the Fabtech because I’ve used their kits before,” said Dalton. “Honestly, I just love the way they ride. Anyone who’s ever ridden in my trucks with a Fabtech kit has been surprised at the ride quality it had.”

From there, the tires and wheels had to be on point. Dalton went with 35-inch Nitto Trail Grapplers, which would help the 4×4 grip in the loose stuff, wrapped around Fuel Forged FF19 22×14 wheels. “They’re the DDT models, which stands for ‘Deep Dark Tint,'” commented Dalton. “I liked them because they were polished, but the darker look to them gave them an off-gray color. It looks really cool and will mesh well with some of my future mods.”

Tinting on the F-350 was done by Tint Specialists in ???, Florida.

Dalton went with the Vengeance style bumpers from Fab Fours. "They give the truck more of a show look than an off-road look," said Dalton. "They stand out more than your typical, big, bulky bumpers."

However, even with the lift kit installed, the tires and wheels had difficulty clearing the front bumper. So, Dalton went ahead and got a set of Fab Fours Vengeance bumpers to replace them. “I wanted the bumpers to be paint-matched,” he said. “They definitely turned out nice.”

Outfitting the bumpers are Rigid Industries lights – four Radiance pods and a 20-inch Radiance light bar up front, and four Dually pods out back. This works well for Dalton, as he’s no fan of roof-mounted lights, and the current aftermarket offerings for LED grilles doesn’t really appeal to him right now.

Some of the future mods going onto Dalton's truck are these slightly tinted lights and emblems, which tie into the grayish, polished look of his Fuel wheels.

Future mods for the Super Duty include a full EGR delete system, as well as new headlights and emblems. Dalton also plans on getting an EZ Lynk device, which once connected to a dash-mounted iPad, will allow the man to monitor his truck’s vitals while he’s driving around (and towing).

This is just one more great example of a clean Super Duty build that will get better and better. Check out more on Dalton’s Instagram, and be sure to visit the Fab Fours website and Facebook page for more information on their products.
