Deep in Youtube we stumbled across this hidden gem of a video which shows a contraption that hauls trucks off road. If you need a way to get your stock suspension work truck such as a welding truck through rough terrain, hitch a ride on the back of this machine known as Swamp Traxx. Constructed in 2009 (or perhaps earlier as the video is highly grainy and its the cheesy soundtrack reminds us of a Windows 95 how to video), this vehicle is designed to get work trucks through large marshes and swamps.

Designed by Pollitt Construction Oilfield & Pipeline, the Swamp Traxx ST24 is a hydraulic powered track machine built around a rugged reinforced chassis and a heavy duty Torflex suspension. The Swamp Traxx is designed to haul several tons of truck. Its D-Dent tracks and suspension allow it to cross all types of terrain including mud, swamps, marshes and layers of snow. The Swamp Traxx is controlled by its host vehicle via connecting mechanisms.

The latest news about the Swamp Traxx is from 2009 and we aren’t sure if the idea has been scrapped. The idea is a neat concept but we are wondering if it’s cheaper and easier to simply lift and upgrade the suspension and tires on a work truck. However, we have to admitted it does look like a lot of fun taking tracks off road and plowing through the mud, it would be the closet we’ll ever get to driving a tank.
