Sometimes it just takes a little action on the part of a brave citizen when things get out of hand with a criminal. Whether this is actually that situation or not we will leave up to you. This last Saturday, a 14-year old boy reportedly stole his grandfather’s car. We’re not really sure why, but that’s not really important at this point.
What is important is that the youth is seen in the video above driving through Founders Park in Syracuse, Utah, and endangering lives. Police were involved in a pursuit of the car Saturday, and dramatic video from a FOX 13 News viewer shows the car speeding across the grass as children frantically move out of the way.
The chase ended around 6:12 p.m. at 1500 S. Banbury Drive in Syracuse. Police said the minor had taken the vehicle without permission and officers sought the vehicle on a breach of trust. The 14-year-old male driving the car is from Sunset, Utah, and had taken the vehicle from his grandfather in Duchesne County, where the grandfather reported the car stolen, according to a press release from the Syracuse Police Department.
Police put out an attempt to locate, and responded after a tipster spotted the car in Syracuse. The tipster heard the attempt to locate while using a police scanner app on a smart phone. Syracuse Police Department officials responded to the call, and video footage of the chase can be seen above.
A photo from the scene shows the same car that sped through the park after it collided with a pickup truck. A second photo shows the vehicles at point of collision. A YouTube video below shows the moment of impact. Our only question … where are your car keys?
